Method

For Filling

  • Kahlua – 11/4th tbsp

  • Butter – 4&1/2 Tbsp

For Glaze

  • Light Corn Syrup – 1&1/8th Tbsp
  • Packed brown Sugar – 1/3rd Cup
  • Butter – 1/4th Cup
  • Kahlua – 1/4th Cup

Method

  • Mix yeast in warm water until frothy.
  • Boil milk in a pan. Add salt, sugar, and shortening to it and remove it from heat.
  • Stir in 1 cup flour, yeast mixture, and egg. Add the remaining flour and mix well to make a stiff dough.
  • Knead the dough for about 5 minutes and place in a greased container. Cover and allow it to rise for about one hour.
  • Combine brown sugar, butter, raisins, Kahlua, and cinnamon in a bowl to make the filling. Mix well.
  • Combine all the glaze ingredients – brown sugar, Kahlua, corn syrup, and butter in a pan and simmer until it blends well.
  • Roll the dough into a rectangle shape (approximately 12 x 15 inches) on a lightly floured surface.
  • Spread the filling on the dough and roll it from the longer edge. Slice the rolled dough into 12 pieces.
  • Pour the glaze into a round baking pan (reserve about 1/3rd to use later). Arrange the rolls in the pan with the cut side down. Rest it for about 25 minutes until it doubles in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Bake the rolls for about 20 to 25 minutes. Rest for five minutes after removing it from the oven. Invert the pan on a serving dish and drizzle with the remaining glaze.
