Bangalore: The Megacity

The megacity of Bangalore, which is officially known as Bengaluru, is the capital of state of Karnataka.
It is located in the southern part of India, on the Deccan plateau.

The foundation of Bangalore was laid by a ruler of the Vijayanagara Empire in the year of 1537 CE. Since it's establishment, the control of the city has been passed from ruler to ruler. In the year of 1799, the city was captured by the British and in the year of 1809, the cantonment of British was shifted there and from there, Bangalore started to grow up.

The megacity of Bangalore is also known by the name of "Silicon Valley of India" because of its major role as the nation's leading Information Technology exporter. Major Indian technology giants, such are ISRO, infosys, Wipro, and HAL are headquartered in this megacity. Bangalore has one of the most educated workforces in India, and the world and it is also the second fastest growing metropolitan in India.

What it has to Offer?

The megacity of Bangalore, evolved from being called as the "Garden City" to being called as the "Silicon Valley of India". It is one of the largest cities of India and it is also one of the most livable places.

The megacity of Bangalore is loved by everyone for its Incredible Transportation System, Rich Culture and Food, Aero Shows, Beautiful Weather, Shopping Malls, and most for its party life. It is one of the best tourist attractions which is also the safest places for women and children.

In Bangalore, one can choose to take a look through the greenery of the beautiful Cubbon Park, shop in Orion Mall or Majestic Market, party in Monkey Bar, eat at the beautiful Hunger Camp restaurant. There's everything for everyone - Bangalore never disappoint anyone.

Although, the recent rise in the growth of IT sector in the city has caused a little pollution, Bangalore offers one of the most beautiful and pleasant weather in the country.

Aside from the commercial places, the neighborhood of the city also offers a lot of things. One can do trekking in the mountains of Savandurga or Narayangiri; Parasailing in Jakkur; Rafting in the incredibly beautiful rivers of Bheemeshwari and Daneli; Or if not any of the above, they can have a peaceful time of exploration at Belum and Antharaganga.

Incredible Transportation System

Compared to other metro cities of India (namely Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai), the Megacity of Bangalore might look to you as unreliable and cost ineffective. However, it is actually better than what most of the people think.

There are the two main Public Transport Operators in Bangalore, BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) and BMRCL (Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited).

BMTC looks after the transport system of buses and BMRCL looks after the system of Mero Rails. Both of them are very efficient and reliable.

BMTC already developed its own app based on Android OS, which can be used to find out the bus one should take to reach the desired destination and the nearest Bus Station at any given point of time. BMTC also owns 900 AC Volvo buses, if you prefer a more relaxed and comfortable journey, you can choose them to travel.
BMRCL is equally good. The city's metro line is wide spread and is very punctual and more comfortable than the buses. It has two lines running North to South and East to West.

Probably the best part of public transport in Bangalore is that both the corporation work together by BMTC taking off buses from the metro's route lines and exactly providing them at the place where Metro isn't available.

Rich Culture & Amazing Food

This megacity has plenty of incredibly beautiful cultural heritage, which is combined within its very own technological and industrial accomplishments.

This amazing blend of old traditions with new modern technologically advanced ones has made Bangalore one of its kind. On one side, the Dynamic City is achieving new feats in IT sector as the Technology Hub, on the other side, there is a revival of old traditional arts and heritages. The fusion of the old and new, the past and future, is visible in every aspect in Bangalore and it's culture.

The blend and synthesis of many ages, cultures and people has given the megacity a cosmopolitan kind of character, which is only seen in very few number of cities in India. This blend can also be seen in communication. Bangalore mainly comprises of languages such as Kannad, English and other regional languages along with Hindi.

Bangalore does not discriminate anyone and this is why it comprises all the practiced religions, namely Hinduism, Muslims and Christians.
