Chole Bhature

Chole Bhature is a very famous indian fast food delicacy. It is available in the northern parts of India. You can expect to find them in Delhi, Amritsar and other parts of Punjab. The bhatures are made of 'maida' and generally come in different sizes.

Indian Fast Food Recipes That are Easy to Cook

Sev Usal

Sev Usal is Gujarat's favourite fast food. It is available widely in all the cities of Gujarat. It is very easy to cook and you must try the recipe once.

Ingredients

  1. For usal
    • 2 cups soaked safed vatana (dried white peas)
    • Salt to taste
    • 1 ½ tablespoon oil
    • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
    • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
    • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
    • 1/4 cup finely chopped tomatoes
    • 1 ½ teaspoon chilli powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
    • 2 teaspoon finely chopped coriander
    • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  2. For topping
    • 2 teaspoon garlic chutney
    • 4 teaspoon green chutney
    • 8 teaspoon sweet chutney
    • 4 tablespoon boiled and chopped potatoes
    • 4 tablespoon finely chopped onions
    • 2 tablespoon grated carrot
    • 2 tablespoon finely chopped coriander
    • 4 tablespoon sev
Method
  • Boil the vatana in a pressure cook. Add some salt and cook it until three to four whistles.
  • Let the steam escape, then open the pressure cook. Strain the water and keep them aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and then add Asafoetida with mustard seeds. Add onions and saute on medium flame for a minute.
  • Add tomatoes and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt and ½ cup of water. Cook it properly and stir occasionally.
  • Add the cooked vatana, coriander, lemon juice and ½ cup water. Cook it properly for 5 to 7 minutes and stir occasionally.
  • Then, add a portion of ragda in a serving bowl and top it up with ½ tsp of garlic chutney, 1 tsp of green chutney, 2 tsp of sweet chutney.
  • Also, add 1 tbsp of potatoes, 1 tbsp of onions, ½ tbsp of carrot, ½ tbsp of coriander and 1 tbsp of sev evenly over it.
  • Serve it with bun. You can apply butter on the bun if you want to.

Samosa

Samosa is a favourite Indian snack in most parts of the country. It is even offered to guests with tea in the evening. It is pretty simple to cook samosas. Checkout the recipe:

Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon powdered turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 2 teaspoon carom seeds
  • Salt as required
  • 2 cup peas
  • 2 inch ginger
  • 2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Black pepper as required
  • 1 cup chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 4 cup all purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoon ghee
  • 4 boiled potatoes
  • 2 green chillies
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 2 teaspoon dry mango powder
Method
  • Place a pan on medium flame and add oil in it. Add cumin seeds, garlic, green chillies, ginger and salt.
  • Combine dry mango powder, coriander powder, coriander leaves, garam masala and turmeric with red chilli powder.
  • Keep stirring the mixture and then add boiled potatoes to it. Mash the entire mixture together.
  • To prepare the outside covering of the samosa, add multipurpose flour in a vessel with cumin seeds, salt and black pepper. Add ghee to it and start kneading.
  • Make sure the dough is firm and cover it in a muslin cloth for half an hour.
  • Roll small size balls of the dough. Flatten then with a rolling pin and then cut it in half.
  • Fold the edges of semi circle into a cone. Fill the mixture in it and seal the ends properly.
  • Add them in hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown.

Onion Rava Dosa

Onion Rava dosa is a wonderful dish to be found on the streets of Chennai. It's a fast food which is famous in the southern India. It is easy to make and is also very healthy to eat.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Rava (semolina)
  • 1 cup Rice flour
  • 3 green chillies, chopped
  • 1/2 inch Ginger, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • A pinch of Asafoetida
  • 3 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 teaspoon cashew nuts (broken), roasted
  • Salt, to taste
  • Oil
Method
  • Mix the rava and rice flour with water. Stir it and form a proper batter.
  • Add cumin seeds, salt and Asafoetida.
  • Leave it aside and keep it in a warm place to ferment.
  • Meanwhile, chop the onions, green chillies, cashews, ginger and black pepper. Put them all in one bowl.
  • Take a flat pan and heat it. Grease it with a spoon of oil.
  • Add some water in the batter and mix it well.
  • Take some batter and spread it on the middle of the pan. Spread it an outward spiral motion.
  • Sprinkle the onion and chilli mixture on it. Dot the edge with oil and cook until golden brown.
  • Use a spatula and carefully fold the dosa and remove from the pan.
  • Serve with chutney and sambar.

Mysore Bonda

Mysore Bonda is again a fast food delicacy which is famous in the southern part of India. It is fried and is normally consumed with coconut chutney. It is available on the streets of Mysore. Here's the recipe:

Ingredients
  • ½ cup urad dal
  • 1 to 1.5 tablespoon rice flour
  • ½ teaspoon crushed black pepper
  • ½ inch ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 green chilli, chopped
  • Chopped coconut, Curry leaves, chopped
  • A pinch of Asafoetida
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Oil for frying the vadas
Method
  • Soak the urad dal overnight. After that, grind it in a mixture until it becomes smooth and fluffy.
  • Mix the batter and all the other ingredients in a bowl, except for oil.
  • Meanwhile heat the oil in another vessel.
  • Shape the batter like a ball and then slide it into the oil.
  • Fry in medium flame until they are golden and crisp.
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney.
