Tips on Making Perfect Soup Each Time
![](https://ds393qgzrxwzn.cloudfront.net/resize/m720x480/cat1/img/images/0/k3XA1OoVvf.jpg)
If you are planning to feed your family soups this winter, then here are some tips on how to make perfect soup each time.
- Remember to gather all the things you need to make a soup before hand, in order to avoid spending time on searching for bowls, pots and spices when needed. This will save a lot of your time and energy.
- If you need to use cream in a soup, but don't have any, you can easily use a few tbs of plain yogurt instead. It will taste even better and will be lesser calories.
- If the soup you plan to make needs a stock base, try to make your own. You can buy it from the market, as well, but for a perfect soup a homemade stock is always better and healthier. The store bought stocks are loaded with preservatives and salt, and are also very expensive; while making it at home is affordable and you can make a good batch of it and freeze it to be used later.
- Don't forget to use a lot of ginger and garlic. They provide great smell and taste to your soup. They help in blending other aromas into the soup as well. You can also use a couple of cloves, if you don't like the smell or taste of garlic. Ginger tastes great with soups and a bite of ginger in a spoon brings instant freshness to the body.
- Don't cook soup in a hurry. A soup turns out best if cooked on low heat for a long time. The longer you cook it, the more flavour you will get from the vegetables and herbs used in it. Simply boil it once on high heat and let it sit on low heat for an hour or two, depending on the ingredients, to get great tasting soup with a professional texture.
- If you are planning on making a large batch of soup and freezing it, remember that if you add in pasta or rice in it it will turn mushy when thawed. Simply freeze the soup and add in freshly cooked pasta, noodles or rice whenever you reheat it for a fresh tasting soup. Also undercook the vegetables if you plan to freeze it, or they will get soggy when you reheat them and your soup will taste stale.

Not Every Ingredient Suits Everyone!
You might be aware of common allergy-causing ingredients like peanuts etc. But some people react adversely to even the simplest of veggies. Red pepper is usually a cause of intestinal distress for some people, whereas others might not be able to digest cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower or broccoli, as it can result in bloating or cramps. It is better to choose a simpler recipe when cooking for a larger number!
