How to Make Flax Seed Gel?
In many of the above face mask recipes, you have come across the term flaxseed gel. It is the major ingredient in all those recipes and it is important that you learn how to prepare flaxseed gel in your own kitchen. The process is very simple and is also not expensive or time consuming.
Ingredients:
• ¼ cup of whole flaxseeds
• 2 cups of water
Procedure:
Start the soaking the flaxseeds in water overnight. In the morning, boil the soaked flaxseeds for around 10 minutes. Stir the mixture occasionally to check the consistency. After 10 minutes or so, switch of the burner and let the mixture cool. The ideal texture of the cooled mixture must be a mucous-like slimy, thick liquid that has the consistency of a gel. Do not overcook the flaxseeds, otherwise the gel would be so thick that you cannot spread it smoothly over the skin. Undercooked flaxseeds will not allow the gel to form. So be careful regarding the consistency of the mixture while boiling. As already said, stir occasionally while boiling to check the consistency. After the mixture has cooled, drain it through a cloth and voila you have a flaxseed gel at your disposal.
