Lucifer (Season 4)

Lucifer is an American television series that was developed by Tom Kapinos and first premiered on January 2016. The show is based on the DC Comics character by the same name and is taken from the comic book series The Sandman. The television series is produced by a team that includes DC Entertainment, Jerry Bruckheimer Television, and Warner Bros. Television. The series revolves around the life of the primary character Lucifer Morningstar that is played by the talented Tom Ellis. He is the Devil, who abandons Hell and starts living in Los Angeles. In the city, Lucifer becomes a consultant to the LAPD and also runs his own nightclub. Though the first two seasons received mixed reviews, the second and third season received positive reviews. However, Fox had announced on May 2018 that it had cancelled Lucifer. But, about a month later, Netflix announced that it has picked up Lucifer for a fourth season of ten episodes. The season was released on May 8, 2019, and is currently streaming on Netflix. Watch Chloe confront Lucifer, the relationship change between Amenadiel, Maze and Linda, and the return of Eve, Lucifer’s former flame. The series will be back with a 5th season too.

The Rain (Season 2)

The Rain is a fantastic Danish post-apocalyptic web TV series that was first released on May 2018. The series has been created by Jannik Tai Mosholt, Christian Potalivo, and Esben Toft Jacobsen. The show shows how a virus that is carried by rainfall successfully wipes out almost all human beings from Scandinavia. However, Danish siblings Simone and Rasmus survive by taking shelter in a bunker. The story then shows their journey six years later, when they go on a mission to find their father who may know the solution to the problem. The siblings are joined by a group of other survivors in their mission and travel across Denmark and Sweden amid dangerous conditions. The second season is equally exciting as the first and shows the events that unfold after the siblings find their father, who is killed before he could reveal anything much. The series will be back for its fans with a third and final season in 2020.

The film has a talented star cast that includes Astro as CJ’s brother, Dante Crichlow as CJ’s best friend, and Eden Duncan-Smith as CJ Walker. The film basically is the story of an ambitious science prodigy. She uses her skill to create time machines. The reason behind it is to save her brother from a death that was caused due to police brutality. However, she is unaware of the dangers that lie ahead of her as she tries to change the events of the past. However, she is determined to do what she wants to and shall face the dangerous consequences that time travel entails.


Released on Netflix on 31st May 2019, Chopsticks is an Indian comedy-drama film produced in the Hindi language. The director of the film is Sachin Yardi, while the name of the producer is Ashvini Yardi. The film has Abhay Deol playing the role of a conman and Mithila Palkar playing the role of a Mandarin translator. The film goes on to show the story of a woman, the Mandarin translator who is referred to a mysterious conman (Abhay Deol). The story then goes on to show how the conman agrees to help the woman recover her stolen car from a thug for free and how that incident brings about a massive change in their lives. The film received mixed reviews by the audience.

After Maria

Streaming on Netflix since 24th May 2019, After Maria is a fantastic short documentary film about three strong women who try to move on with their lives after their world came crashing down due to hurricane Maria that wreaked havoc in Puerto Rico. The movie has been directed by Nadia Hallgren and the movie runs for 37 minutes in total. After Maria, as a movie, acknowledges the larger side of the tragedy that most of us ignored. It shows the condescension that the survivors received from the Trump administration, it shows the apathy that the survivors received from federal aid agencies, it showed that the death toll was actually a lot higher than the number that was officially acknowledged. The documentary shows the disaster caused by the hurricane and its paralyzing aftermath - all through the eyes of three women survivors and their families.

A Tale of Two Kitchens

Released on Netflix on 22 May 2019, A Tale of Two Kitchens is an interesting short film directed by Trisha Ziff. The film shows the ways in which a restaurant can be a place of both community and dignity. A restaurant star of Mexico City Gabriela Cámara goes on to open another eatery named Cala. But this time, in San Francisco. The eatery has a similar menu but an unusual and different kitchen culture. In Cala, Cámara hires people who come from different backgrounds and cultures. This also includes ex-addicts and ex-felons, who see the work as a significant opportunity to become better individuals. The film is very inspiring and has received a lot of positive feedback.

Designated Survivor (Season 3)

The third season of the Designated Survivor is all set to release on June 2019. The first episode of the first season of the series was released on 21st September 2016. The series has been created by David Guggenheim. The series revolves around the life of Tom Kirkman who had never imagined that an incident would just move him to the oval office. When a devastating attack ends the lives of the US President and most of the Cabinet members, Kirkman, the designated survivor finds himself as the leader of the free world. Kirkman struggles to handle his newfound job, i.e., to keep the country from dissolving into chaos. However, he is unaware of what lies ahead of him and his country. The latest season will continue from where it ended in Season 2.


Based on a novel with the same name that is written by journalist Prayaag Akbar, Leila is a TV web series that is written by Urmi Juvekar and directed by Deepa Mehta. The TV web series will star Huma Qureshi, Sanjay Suri, Rahul Khanna, Arif Zakaria, and Siddharth, The series will have a total of six-episode and will start streaming the first episode from 14 June 2019. The story is about a mother looking for her missing daughter in a totalitarian regime in the future.

Dark (Season 2)

Dark is the first Netflix original series in the German language. It is a science fiction thriller series that goes on to show the events that unfold after the mysterious disappearance of a child. The series was co-created by Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar. The first episode of Season 1 was streamed on Netflix on 1st December 2017 and was received well by the audience. The second season is supposed to start streaming from 21st June 2019. Season 2 will also be followed by the third season that will be the final season of the series.

Arthdal Chronicles

Soon to be released on Netflix, Arthdal Chronicles is a South Korean fantasy television series. It has been created by Kim Won-suk, Park Sang-yean, and Kim Young-Hyun, The series stars actors Song Joong-ki, Kim Ji-won, and Jang Dong-gun, the story revolves around the lives of the people who live in a mythical land called Arth.

Stranger Things (Season 3)

Created by Duffer Brothers, who are also the producers of the series, along with Dan Cohen, Shawn Levy, and Iain Paterson, the show successfully completed two seasons starting from 2016. In the third season, Eleven and her friends realize that evil only evolves, it never ends. They have to face old and new threats, and yet stay strong and not let go of the friendship.

Orange Is the New Black (Season 7)

This is the final season of the series that has been running for a long time now on Netflix. The American comedy-drama web TV series has been created by Jenji Kohan exclusively for Netflix. The series is based on Piper Kerman's memoir, Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison that was released in 2010. The third season will start streaming sometime toward the end of July and will show the return of the ladies of Litchfield for one last time.

Fuller House (Season 5)

Witness the Tanner family go on their adventures for one last time in Season 5 of this successfully running series only on Netflix. The last season is likely to have the same cast. However, Michael Campion is likely to return as DJ’s mischievous teenage son Jackson and Elias Harger might also return as DJ’s neat freak son Max. The last season will likely be released sometime in autumn 2019.
